WHAT IS AMAZON MONITRON?
Amazon Monitron reduces unplanned equipment downtime with predictive maintenance and machine learning.
Amazon Monitron is basically a machine learning (ML) end-to-end condition monitoring solution system that detects potential failures within equipment. Thus, enabling you to implement a predictive maintenance program and reduce lost productivity from unplanned machine downtime
Amazon Monitron, in addition, it includes purpose-built sensors to capture vibration and temperature data, as well as gateways to automatically transfer data to the AWS Cloud. It also comes with an application in two versions.
Furthermore, the mobile application handles system setup, analytics, and notification when tracking equipment conditions. Therefore, the web application provides all the same functions as the mobile app except setup.
Subsequently, reliability managers can quickly deploy it to track the machine health of industrial equipment, such as such as bearings, motors, gearboxes, and pumps, without any development work or specialized training.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
FOUR STEP WORKFLOW PROCESS OF AMAZON MONITRON
Step 1: Basically, a sensor captures temperature and vibration data from the equipment (the asset) and transmits it to the gateway.
In Step 2: Hence, a gateway transmits the data to the AWS Cloud using the factory’s internet connection.
lastly, Step 3: The ML-based service in the AWS Cloud analyzes the sensor data.
- Furthermore, Amazon Monitron looks for abnormalities in the data that could indicate developing faults.
- In addition, if it finds potential failures, it notifies reliability managers and technicians through the app so they can take appropriate action.
- Above all, Technicians investigate based on the alerts, and resolve the developing fault. Additionally, they enter feedback on the accuracy of the alerts, and report the failure mode, cause, and action taken in the app. Therefore, it learns from this feedback and continually improves.
Finally, Step 4: The app displays current and past temperature and vibration data in charts that are easy to understand and can be used while investigating an issue.
FEATURES
After all, using sensors mounted on your equipment and industry-recognized vibration standards and machine learning techniques. Hence, Monitron analyzes data for indications of potential equipment failure. In addition, It notifies you about developing faults so you can resolve them before they become more serious problems. Therefore with Monitron, you can schedule corrective maintenance activities more effectively to limit productivity losses and minimize repair costs that can result from catastrophic failure of your equipment.

SIMPLE SET UP
Above all, set up sensors quickly and easily by tapping your phone on the sensor utilizing near-field communication (NFC) technology. Consequently, set up your Gateway by following a few simple steps in the app. Hence, you can quickly install and start using these devices to monitor your equipment without any development work.
ISO and ML-based analytics
In addition, Amazon Monitron automatically detects abnormal machine operating states by analyzing vibration and temperature signals using the ISO 20816 standards for vibration, and ML-enabled models.
Timely notifications in the Amazon Monitron app
It sends push notifications when the service detects abnormal machine patterns from the vibration and temperature settings. Thus, you can also review and track these abnormal machine states within the app.
Furthermore, with just a few taps in the mobile and web apps, you can enter feedback on the alerts received, such as failure mode, failure cause, and action taken. Additionally, it learns from that feedback and continually improves over time.
Hence, the gateway device securely transfers data to AWS, and the service automatically analyzes your data for abnormal machine conditions using machine learning. Above all, you can start monitoring equipment health in minutes through the mobile and web apps, and enable predictive maintenance with the same technology used to monitor equipment in Amazon Fulfillment Centers.
Steps To Get Started
First Step
Purchase sensors and gateways.
Firstly, to get started with Amazon Monitron, you can buy Amazon Monitron Sensors and Gateways on Amazon.com and Amazon Business. In addition, Monitron also offers a Starter Kit that includes five Sensors and one Gateway so that you can get started in an easy and cost-effective way.
Second Step
Configure and install.
Hence, create a project within the Amazon Monitron console. Subsequently, using the mobile app, you can commission Amazon Monitron Gateways, register the equipment you would like to monitor, and pair Amazon Monitron Sensors to one or more positions on the equipment.
Third Step
Monitor and manage using Amazon Monitron app.
Once the Amazon Monitron Sensors and Gateways are set up, the sensors automatically connect to AWS via the Gateway and Amazon Monitron starts monitoring the equipment. Get alerts whenever Amazon Monitron detects potential failures. After all, the mobile and web apps, you can view sensor measurements, and provide feedback on alerts received to help improve system accuracy.
In which AWS regions is Amazon Monitron available?
Similarly, Amazon Monitron service is available in US East (N. Virginia) and Europe (Ireland), and will be available in additional regions soon. Additionally, you can buy Amazon Monitron Starter Kits, Sensors and Gateways on amazon.com and Amazon Business. Thus, these devices are certified for use in US, Canada, UK and EU
